Fall 2013 Wedding: A Music-Filled Saratoga Springs

After being fortunate enough to be published in the San Francisco Chronicle this past Sunday – and yes, we had a full page, no ads, it was awesome! – I’ve been asked by a few people to see more pictures of this unique wedding. I can’t say enough about how amazing it was to photograph Alicia and Mike’s big day. Beyond the klezmer, the delectable food, and the home brewed honey wine, the community was just amazing.

I’ve never quite seen a wedding community dance for quite this extended of a time… It was epic! Continue reading

Stow Lake engagement with Leah and Adam

Leah and Adam are about the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. They have kindness in their souls. And they’re good listeners too, making for a really fun engagement session at Stow Lake, in Golden Gate Park – San Francisco. The cherry trees were going off, and it was green as green gets for our golden California. It was lots of fun, and no, no one went swimming in the lake today!

B-E-S-T engagement photo… Evah!

Sometimes you’re just at the right place at the right time. And sometimes that’s enough, but if you don’t have the right people, the place and time are almost meaningless… well at least for photography. And actually, as I think about that a bit more, it’s a truism that rings throughout everything we do. Pleasurable, fulfilling life experiences become so much richer when place, time, and personality come together.

So here we are at Golden Gate park enjoying a remarkable spring day when we come across a gang of people.

2012: A Year in Review – An ebook look into Lech Naumovich Photography

2012 ebook previewI’ve been working on trying to recap and learn from my past year of photography. This year, for the first time, I’ve taken on creating an ebook with my 16 favorite images, and offering it as a sort of brief, updated portfolio. Continue reading

City Hall Wedding with Class

KT--2

I recently photographed a wonderful marriage in City Hall. Kim and Tim (the Im’s) looked stunning especially with the grand architecture and history surrounding them. They are fantastically warm and kind people who have been in love for some time and finally tied the knot.

For me, it was great to be a part of their wedding and to witness what happens in City Hall.  After delivering their finished photos, I spent some time finalizing a few pics in a low-contrast, high ISO feel with grain and old times. This isn’t typically what I offer clients (unless they ask specifically), but I thought the BW finish and the feel of the event worked nicely. Continue reading

Cara and Zach – Napa Style Done Right!

engagement pic teasers-7139I was recommended to Cara and Zach through mutual friends and it’s been nothing but fun from day 1 at Ben and Nicks.  We shared a beverage and talked about the idea of a wedding, the role of photography and realized we would be a good match.  These two are enviros to the core and I can’t tell you how great it was to be a part of their big day.  They are both doing great things with their lives, spreading good will and advancing science.  Congrats to them on throwing an amazing celebration with some of the kindest, warmest people I’ve ever interacted with.

Here is a brief spin through their amazing day at the Robert Young Estate Winery in Healdsburg.  This venue was incredibly storybook-like with grapes, mountains and white picket fences.  The staff was wonderfully warm and I enjoyed my time there greatly!

Leah and Jonah engaged

Many of my wedding photography appointments have been initiated with “We’re getting married and, so and so recommended we talk to you.”  And I can’t imagine a better way to start things off.  There’s no pretense, only a conversation.  I don’t apply for any awards on Martha Stewart’s Weddings or the Knot so no one comes in expecting a $10K photography extravaganza that may be on the cover of some wedding association magazine.  I just talk, listen, dream, collaborate, plan, and shoot.  The results are pretty rad. (Or so the couples say!)

Adam and Maya – Oakland Livin’

When Adam and Maya rode up to the engagement session on bikes, I knew instantly knew they were going to be awesome.  Although a bit camera shy at first, I can’t imagine a better engagement/lifestyle session.  By the end of our walk in the park, I can truly say that they are the quintessential Oaktown couple – creative, passionate, and real.  They’re getting married this weekend and I bet it will be fun!
